Jayanth Munigala was born into a agriculture family in Kamanpalli village, Adilabad district (now Mncherial district), Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana). He Graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1979 from College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
He worked from 1980 to 1986 as Scientist at DLRL, Hyderabad.
He was selected to IAS in 1986 and served in various capacities in Bihar and Jharkhand states and in Government of India.
He was the member in the RBI Working Group on Improvement of Banking Services in the State of Jharkhand.
He took VRS from IAS due to personal reasons in October, 2009 and settled at Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh”.
